Hello,
I recently moved into Gateway and have been trying to understand the exorbitant electric costs. I’ve been speaking with the electric company, reviewing historic data, and comparing to market rates. From the electric company, it seems the electric heaters we have are quite problematic in this climate (increases cost 2-4x when temperatures are 40 degrees or below). It appears the units we have are a mismatch for the building and region we live in. What would be the steps to replace these with more efficient and effective units?
More generally, in 2025, it’s a bit horrifying to see the environmental rating of the building be so poor. We could easily decrease tenant and building costs while simultaneously decrease environmental harm by making modifications to the building. Given the continued climate change, it’s clear this will become more important year by year, so addressing it sooner than later would be beneficial financially and functionally.
Is this something that has been discussed previously? What would be a forum where we could bring this to management attention? Please let me know if this is not the correct group to address this issue or if someone else should be included.
